WHEN the sun sets on a long, hard week of work, most people want to spend their free time with someone special.
But for lonely people with no one to cuddle up to, Friday nights can be depressing.
OF GA-RANKUWA, TSHWANE, HAVE A SOLUTION.
Single people from the kasi gather at a local park to find love for the weekend!
If you have been dumped by your lover, if your wife is away or if you just want a night of fun, Tshwara Nyatsi at Bucks Inn, Ga-Rankuwa industrial site, is the place to find comfort.
Lonely souls from the township and the neighbouring areas of Mabopane and Soshanguve gather every Friday at the park to stop the blues with drinking, dancing and music.
Men say they often find hot women at the park and women say it’s even better than a Mavuso stokvel.
As the sun sets on Friday nights, cars can be seen rushing to the site to get a good parking spot and book the hottest people for the weekend.
When the SunTeam visited the park recently, many of the people there said they were dedicated to their jobs and worked hard all week but when Friday came they couldn’t wait to relax.
Monica Mathibedi (43), who works as a nurse at Dr George Mukhari Hospital, said when she left work on Fridays she often felt stressed.
“This is a place where I can enjoy myself. I really love it here. This place is dead during the week but on Fridays it’s really happening.”
Johannes Molefe told Daily Sun: “The babes are hot here. I don’t work in this area but I’m always here to enjoy myself on Fridays. I fill up my car with petrol, get my friends and we know we will be sorted with nice ladies with no strings attached.”
Small businesses also make a killing in the area by selling fast food and loose draws.
However, not everyone thinks the gatherings are harmless fun. Pastor Daniel Mogotlane from the Hope of Glory Ministries International warned people against bad behaviour.
“People should be careful of the names they give places because they can turn children into the things they are named after.
“That place has been given a demonic character by its name and it is making people behave in a certain way.”
