FORMER Kaizer Chiefs striker, Kaizer Motaung Jnr, may walk out of court a free man as early as next week.
This after the court discovered his estranged wife,
Katherine Heider, has decided to withdraw the charges against him.
Motaung Jnr, who is the son of Kaizer Chiefs boss Kaizer Motaung, appeared at the
Randburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of common assault on Wednesday.
Motaung Jnr was accused of assaulting his wife after a heated argument last month.
He was accused of pushing Heider who hit an object before falling.
Heider told police she
suffered a knee abrasion and swollen ankle.
The court postponed the
matter to next week to allow Heider to take the witness stand and confirm the withdrawal of the charges.
Last month, Motaung Jnr’s lawyer Steve Merchak said their client was going to fight the charges in court.
